On 7 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, along with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili, visited Neran community in Ulmera Village, Liquica Municipality. The village holds a special remembrance with Thailand, as it was part of the Thai Military monitoring area during the UNTAET Peacekeeping Force (PKF) in 2000, during which the Thai Battalion provided agricultural equipment and trainings to the villagers. They also constructed a multipurpose building and a commemorative monument. A pair of Ai-Hanek trees were planted as a symbol signifying the relationship between the two countries.

During the visit, the Ambassador discussed ways to further strengthen the ties with Neran community in Ulmera Village, especially to revitalise agricultural practices and promote food security within the village. The Embassy also handed over Thai rice and other staples, as well as essential daily items, to approximately 200 villagers from 45 households, as part of the activities to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand on 3 June 2024.
