On 1 June 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili organised a seminar to share information about its consular services and exchange views on the matters with the Thai community in Timor-Leste. This event took place in Atauro Island where the Thai community participated in volunteer activities to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28th July 2024.

The shared information included services on passports, Thai ID cards, and legalisation as well as guidelines for entering and exiting Timor-Leste. This was followed by a session to exchange views on how the Thai community could enhance people-to-people ties with Timor-Leste through Thailand’s soft power tools like cuisine, cultural performances, martial arts and volunteer activities to support local civil society organisations.

H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, stated that the Embassy stands ready to facilitate its consular services to the Thai nationals and also cooperate with them to support local Timorese community which would further strengthen people-to-people relations as well as overall ties between Thailand and Timor-Leste.
