On 7 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, presided over the official handover of the duck shelter, supported by the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili, to Ediri School in Liquica Municipality. This initiative is part of the Embassy’s project to promote the application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) in Timor-Leste. The handover ceremony was also attended by Mr. Marcelino Mendoça Pereira, Director of Agriculture of Dili Municipality.

On the same day, the Embassy organised a workshop on optimising ducks rearing as a protein source for school lunch program, which was attended by approximately 35 participants including parents, teachers and members of the community. Three instructors imparted their knowledge on the topic, including Mr. Salvador Saldanha R. Ribeiro, Chief Department of Agriculture Extension, and Ms. Gabriela Moniz da Silva, Livestock Technician, from the Dili Municipality Administration, as well as Mr. Felismino Gonçalves, Head of the Livestock and Veterinary Department of the Liquica Municipality Administration. Mr. Ribeiro has been instrumental in this project as a resource person who applies and adapts his SEP training in Thailand to the local context and community needs in Timor-Leste.
