On 15 November 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili, together with other Embassies of ASEAN Member States in Timor-Leste (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand), hosted a dinner to celebrate Timor-Leste's admission as the 11th member of ASEAN. The event was attended by H.E. José Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, along with other senior members of the Timorese Government, including the Vice-Prime Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, reflecting the close friendship and unity among ASEAN Member States.
