On 26 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, witnessed the signing of the “Declaration on the Admission of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)” by H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, and leaders of ASEAN and Timor-Leste to formally admit Timor-Leste as the 11th member of ASEAN. Thailand welcomes this historic milestone and looks forward to working closely with Timor-Leste to further advance regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
