Required documents for Tourist visa single entry:

  • Original passport with at least 6-month validity and 2 blank visa pages
  • Completed visa application form
  • A copy of passport
  • A passport size photo (3x4 cm. and taken within the past 6 months)
  • A copy of reservation/confirmation of return ticket to Thailand.
  • A copy of reservation/confirmation of accommodation for the whole stay in Thailand. If staying with a friend/relative, please submit his/her invitation letter and a copy of his/her identity card/passport.
  • Evidence of adequate finance: Bank Statement showing at least 750 USD for individual applicant or 1,500 USD for group/family applicants

Additional documents required for multiple entry visa:

  • Residence pass in Timor-Leste or long-term visa (not being a temporary visitor)
  • Evidence of adequate finance: recent bank statement (last 6 months) showing at least 7,000 USD for individual applicant or 14,000 USD for group/family applicants.
  • A copy of tickets/documents showing the need for multiple entries into Thailand
  • Proof of employment in Timor-Leste, e.g. letter from employer mentioning the applicant’s name, position and dates of visit to Thailand. If you own a business, your company registration documents are required.
  • Letter from educational institutions mentioning the applicant’s name, course of study and dates of visit to Thailand (for students only)

Eligibility for Special Tourist visa (STV):

  1. Applicant is not prohibited from entering the Kingdom as provided by the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
  2. Applicant must have permanent residence in Timor-Leste
  3. Applicant must have no criminal record in Thailand and the country of the applicant’s nationality and residence
  4. Applicant must not have prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535

Required documents for Special Tourist visa (STV):

  • 2 copies of completed visa application form
  • A passport valid for more than 12 months from the date of entry to Thailand;
  • Health and Accident Insurance that covers the whole period of stay in Thailand of the applicant (Purchase from a Thai Insurance Company only), with coverage for Outpatient Treatment of no less than 40,000 baht and Inpatient Treatment of no less than 400,000 baht.
  • Health insurance policy covering all expenditures of medical treatments, including COVID-19 worth at least 100,000 USD.
  • Confirmed of 14-day quarantine in the Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ)
  • Document that confirmed the applicant’s ownership of a room in a condominium in Thailand or the ownership of the applicant’s direct family member or the documents showing that the purchase of the condominium is in process and the applicant already has already paid at least 2 installments.
  • In case the applicant does not have a room in a condominium in Thailand, confirmed of payment for hotel rooms or rented accommodation during the whole period of stay in Thailand must be submitted.
  • Spouse and children of the applicant (Children must not be over 20 years old) are required to submit documents confirming relations with the applicant.


For applicant from listed country[1], please provide 3 sets of required documents

Visa fees:

- 40 USD for single entry visa

- 200 USD for multiple entry visa

- 70 USD for special tourist visa

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.

The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to refuse visa to applicant with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable.
