On 14 May 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Projects (OPSP) organized a virtual conference to follow up on the implementation of the Collaborative Project on Children and Youth Development in Timor-Leste under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The virtual conference co-chaired by Colonel Nantaporn Viravathana, Advisor to OPSP, and H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, was attended by representatives from all six participating schools, namely Escola Básica Central Hera, Escola Básica Filial Acanuno, Escola Básica Central Fatuquero, Escola Básica Filial Dona Ana Lemos, Escola Básica Central Saint Jose, and Ensino Pré-Escolar Acanuno.
The representative of each school reported the latest development of the Project and activities to promote nutrition food and hygiene awareness for students i.e. growing vegetables for lunch as well as monitoring and evaluating students' physical development. They also shared the challenges facing their schools, particularly lack of vegetable seeds, lack of monitoring and evaluating equipment for students' health development, no fence to protect vegetable gardens from animals, and limited access to healthcare services and clean water. The meeting agreed that the six schools could prepare proposals requesting support on the matters and send them through the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili to OPSP for consideration accordingly.
