On 9 April 2024, H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, welcomed a delegation of Timor-Leste youth selected by the Timor-Leste government to participate in the Future Leader of ASEAN Programme (Futuru Lider ba ASEAN – FLBA) to empower and prepare Timor-Leste's new generation for the membership of Timor-Leste to ASEAN in the near future.  A total of 100 young people from various backgrounds were selected for the programme, which 11 of them are scheduled to visit Thailand during 19-28 May 2024.  The visit would provide a good opportunity for the participants to exchange views with representatives of the Thai authorities concerned in the areas of human resource development, economic growth and sustainability.

During the meeting, the Ambassador gave an overview information about Thailand, including its economy, society and culture, Thailand's role in ASEAN, and also exchanged views with the participants on social issues, development of knowledge and vocational skills for youth, as well as community and rural development.  This meeting was beneficial for promoting people-to-people ties between Thailand and Timor-Leste.
