Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between the national parliaments of the two countries, especially in capacity-building and knowledge-sharing on the role of legislative bodies within the ASEAN framework. Furthermore, both sides also exchanged views on the pivotal role of the National Parliament in supporting Timor-Leste's roadmap towards ASEAN membership in 2025 and ensuring that the people of Timor-Leste can leap the full benefits of ASEAN membership.
