The Royal Thai Embassy follows up on the implementation of
the Collaborative Project on Children and Youth Development under
the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand

Since 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand initiated the Collaboration Project on Children and Youth Development to provide support for the schools in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, namely Escola Basica Filial Acanuno, Escola Basica Central Hera, Escola Basica Central Fatuquero and Escola Basica Filial Dona Ana Lemos. The Project aims to enhance schools’ infrastructure and improve students’ nutrition and health as well as supporting school classroom renovation and providing support for the Agriculture for School Lunch projects.
H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand, together with officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, visited four schools under the Collaborative Project on Children and Youth Development under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The schools reopened its schools’ activities in August 2020 after being temporarily closed since March 2020 due to the declaration of the state of emergency of the COVID-19 situation in Timor-Leste. In this regard, H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat handed over agricultural equipment, materials and seeds for the Agriculture for School Lunch projects for the four schools.
The Royal Thai Embassy has continued to implement the classroom building construction project under the Collaborative Project on Children and Youth Development as requested by the schools. In this connection, H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat presided over the contract signing ceremony for the construction project of a classroom building for Escola Basica Filial Acanuno and the construction project of a classroom building together with school’s fence for Escola Basica Central Fatuquero. The construction projects for both schools are scheduled to be completed in November 2020 and February 2021 respectively.
