The Entry into Force of

the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand

and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

on Visa Exemption for Tourism Purposes

for Holders of Ordinary Passports

           The Royal Thai Embassy in Dili is pleased to announce that both sides have completed all necessary internal legal procedures for the entry into force of the above-mentioned Agreement and the Agreement will be effective on 22 November 2024, following the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste on Visa Exemption for Tourism Purposes for Holders of Ordinary Passports, convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand on 21 June 2024.

           This Agreement provides for visa-free travel for the nationals of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and for the nationals of the Kingdom of Thailand holding a valid ordinary passport when travelling to the territory of the other Contracting Party for a maximum period of thirty (30) days for tourism purposes, provided that they shall not take up any employment, be it self-employment, or any private activity in the territory of the other Contracting Party.
