On 23 April 2020, H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, presided over the handover ceremony of the rehabilitated building of Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste (CVTL) at the headquarters of CVTL in Dili. The rehabilitation project was supported by Her Royal Highness Princess MahaChakriSirindhorn of Thailand, the Executive Vice-President of the Thai Red Cross Society.The handover ceremony was attended by Mrs. Madalena F.M. Hanjan Costa Soares, President of CVTL, members of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Timor-Leste, and Timor-Leste’s health authorities.

The support provided by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand to CVTL enhances relations and cooperation between Thailand and Timor-Lesteon public health, as well as reiterates the Kingdom of Thailand’s strong commitment to work closely with the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to improve the standard of living of Timorese people.
