H.E. Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Ambassador of Thailand to Timor-Leste, together with officials of the Embassy and spouses attended the ceremony The Royal Thai Embassy in Dili organised a ceremony to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2024. The Ambassador read the citation and led the participants in signing the well-wishing book in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

On this occasion, the Embassy, in collaboration with the Thai community in Timor-Leste, also organised a volunteer activity in commemoration of this Auspicious Occasion, by donating essential items for women and infants to Casa Vida, Timorese civil society organisation that provides protection, restoration and empowerment to young women and children who are victims of gender-based violence (GBV). Currently, 45 individuals, comprising 37 girls and 8 infants, are under its care.

This volunteer activity builds on the ongoing collaboration between the Embassy and Casa Vida. Since June 2024, the Embassy has supported Ms. Sunisa Pumjan, a Thai national working as a personal trainer in Timor-Leste, to provide self-defence and fitness training to young women under Casa Vida’s care. This initiative is another example of the Thai community's constructive contributions in Timor-Leste, helping to strengthen the people-to-people connections, which is a very important factor in the relations between Thailand and Timor-Leste.
